Aeronautical Engineering & Maintenance - Scrutineer
Would you like to be involved with supporting the production of assessments for City & Guild’s qualifications in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance?
We are looking for a competent industry expert to join us in producing assessment content for our Aircraft Maintenance qualification.
We are looking to recruit a scrutineer to scrutinise on demand, multiple choice question papers. Further details of what these roles consist of can be found in the attached Role Profile. Further detail about the qualification can be found on our Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance qualification page.
This examiner role gives you the opportunity to work alongside your current job, to build additional income with competitive daily rates, and to continue to develop your own skills and development.
The assessments within the Aeronautical and Engineering qualifications include Multiple Choice exams. We are looking for examiners to help produce Multiple-Choice questions (MCQ) with ongoing maintenance of the examinations. As part of the recruitment process we will explain more about the requirements and on-going commitments of the roles.
We will also ask you to complete a task and attend a short call with members of our assessment team. The task and discussion will support us in identifying which role is best suited to your experience and availability. Most of this work can be completed in your own time provided you can meet our deadlines.
However, all successful applicants will be invited to attend an online, mandatory one-day MCQ writing training course. This will be held in January 2026. Following successful completion of the training, work would be commissioned in the following weeks. The writer, reviser and panel member roles will need to attend one full-day meeting to evaluate the assessment content. This is expected to take place in February/March 2026. These meetings would be planned in advance. Maintenance work on our qualifications may be required as and when on an ongoing basis.
Applications will be reviewed on an on-going basis between now and December 2025. When completing your application, it is essential you read the person specification fully, and map your application to show where you meet the requirements set out. Please note applications that do not demonstrate meeting the person specification may be declined or delayed.
We look forward to receiving your application. We believe that diversity and inclusion strengthen and enriches us, and that it is the responsibility of everyone at the City & Guilds Limited to drive this value. We work hard to be inclusive in our approach to recruitment and associate opportunities, whilst still ensuring we meet our regulatory requirements. We strongly encourage and welcome applications from diverse and underrepresented communities.
