Would you like to be involved with supporting City & Guilds in the delivery of T-Levels for Management and Administration?
We are looking for competent T Level Marking Examiners to join us in the delivery of the Summer 2023 assessment series and beyond.
This associate role gives you the opportunity to work alongside your current job, to build additional income with competitive daily rates, and to continue to develop your own skills and development.
Further detail on these elements, including sample assessments, can be found in the qualification specification on the 8715 qualification webpage.
The Task Profile outlines the expectations of the Marking Examiner role, and the Person Specification outlines the experience we’re looking for someone to have as a marking examiner.
For more information please see the Person Specification and Task Profile.
The Employer-set project (ESP) samples knowledge drawn from across the core content. It is an assessment that is externally set and externally marked, made up of several tasks that will take place within controlled conditions, assessing the knowledge and skills learned as part of the core element of the T Level.
The project is made up of a number of tasks which all relate to the same Employer-set project brief;
- Research
- Report
- Project plan
- Presentation
- Collaborative problem-solving
- Evaluation
The project draws on the content from the core knowledge that sits across all specialisms. The core content covered in the Employer-Set Project:
- Business Context
- People
- Business Behaviours
- Quality and Compliance
- Finance
- Policies and Procedures
- Project and Change Management
Successful applicants for the ESP Marking Examiners positions will be invited to attend training and then standardisation for marking.

Potential Additional Duties
- During the marking and awarding period some markers may be promoted to the role of a Marking Team Lead. Task profiles for this role will be shared once markers have successfully completed training.
- A selection of markers may be asked to input into one or more awarding meetings. Each awarding meeting typically is a full day meeting in July (Summer Series) and/or January (Autumn Series), which may be face-to-face in London or remote via Microsoft Teams.
When completing your application, it is essential you read the person specification fully, and map your application to show where you meet the requirements set out. Please note applications that do not demonstrate meeting the person specification may be declined or delayed. We look forward to receiving your application.
Applications will be reviewed on an on-going basis between now and March 2023. Suitable applicants will be invited to attend training in 2023.
If you are interested in more than one Marking Examiner role, you will need to apply for each one using the link to apply under each role.
