Functional Skills Level 1 and Level 2 (Mathematics) assessment writer/examiner

We are looking for subject matter experts to join us as Assessment Writers/Examiners, for our Functional Skills (Mathematics) Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications with immediate effect.
Our Functional Skills exams are available on demand year-round for candidates. Regulatory conditions require assessment paper production to be renewed regularly and this makes the role dynamic and fast paced at times.

We are looking for assessment writers to help write and edit Functional Skills Level 1 and Level 2 papers comprising Multiple-Choice questions (MCQ), Short answer questions and problem-solving questions.
Question writing and editing training will be provided for the successful candidate. Following successful completion of the training, work would be commissioned in the following weeks. This may take the form of writing or attending Assessment Material Evaluation, or exam paper awarding.
This will require you to be available to attend all day meetings. These meetings would be planned in advance and are carried out over Teams. Maintenance work may be required as and when on an ongoing basis.
Functional Skills Mathematics exam papers consist of two sections:
Section 1 – Calculator not permitted • 12 questions worth a total of 15 marks
Section 2 -Calculator permitted • 15 questions worth a total of 45 marks
Exam papers cover underpinning knowledge and problem-solving questions according to the subject content statements in the DfE Subject content for function skills mathematics.
